Frequently asked questions
Is the carpet real?
Yes. It is a museum photograph of a real 19th-century Gazakh carpet (The Metropolitan Museum of Art, open licence). The wool pile, the irregularities of hand knotting and the fringe are shown as they are.
What is written in cotton?
“Be happy”, the bride's and groom's names, a heart and the wedding date. The names come from the order and are drawn as cotton right in the browser. In Azerbaijani it reads “Xoşbəxt olun”, in Russian “Будьте счастливы”.
